Analog Died a Little More Today
Friday, April 10th, 2009Walking back to the station in Ichikawa, Chiba, my heart dropped down around my ankles today. The Oaba Photo Studio is No More. It was there a few months ago. Yes, it was decaying, and empty, a hollow shell of what it most have been.
The papers that lay in its window were faded from years of exposure. But that is all gone now. At this time huge canvas sheets protect the road from the debris from its destruction. Several bright orange cones keep the viewers back.
Sigh, so yes, the Obara Photographic Studio will be missed. Another piece of analog history dies.

We Once Were Flowers, Too
Thursday, April 9th, 2009Wandering the backstreets of the Roppongi district in Tokyo yesterday, I came across a little alley with a withering flower. It must have been gorgeous just a few hour, days ago. Look closely, what do you see. Roppongi is undergowing a makeover of an epic scale.

Abstracted, Blurred Cherry Blossoms
Wednesday, April 8th, 2009Cherry Blossoms Squared
Tuesday, April 7th, 2009It is that time of year, as the days start to grow warmer, the days start to get a bit longer and all the cherry blossoms come out to play. If you don’t live in Japan, you can’t imagine what a big event going out and appreciating the cherry blossoms. People hang out on top of blue plastic sheets in parks up and down, all over Japan. Drinking to excess and just flat out having a good time. This is the first batch of images taken with the Ricoh GRII. As usual there will be more 2 come.
Last but not least.
For there are more to come

Maseo popped over the secret broadcasting location of Brimstone127 aka DJ Wheatgrass, and I was able to snap a little piece of OURSTORY.

the shot that almost ended my camera’s career
Monday, April 6th, 2009This b-girl, PrettySick, could really kick it at the Hot Wheels Jam down in Miami. She literally almost kicked my camera out of my hands. If it wasn’t for my brother Brimstone127, that would have been all she wrote for my SLR. But the image is worth it. Big ups to the Street Master Crew and PrettySick!
The Brass Prince: The Future of Real Hiphop
Friday, April 3rd, 2009The Brass Prince son of the Brass King loves to pose, break, and getting on the wheels of steel just like his pop. I caught up with the youths at Youth Expressions Bboy battle and jam down at the rock bottom in Miami, Florida. If we teach the youth in what is real Hiphop culture the future will be HipHop. His little brother follows and will get there someday too.
The Brass Prince will catch you all on the flip side.
Breakin’ at Hot Wheels
Thursday, April 2nd, 2009Well, when I was a youth the skating rink was called Hot Wheels. I am not even sure what the exact name of the place is anymore, just about everyone I know still calls it hot wheels. I was down to catch an old school breaking jam. Fab breakers including the Street Masters Crew, Triple Seven out to just grab the floor and spur each other on.
motion, movement and light.
