Not Hand Power

The dust from the snap election in Japan may be over but that doesn’t mean that all is well. People of all shades and character are pretty fed up with government here in Japan.  I, for one, will never place trust in the hands of politricksters.  They are only bound to disappoint us all with their ego, greed, and money.

I place my faith in higher hands.  I place my love in my heart, I try my hardest to lead a good life.  I will take the nonsense that the politrickters dish out to us, and transform it into beauty spiced with love.

Egotistical, nationalistic posters, transform before my eyes into beautiful works of passion.

Swimming in Violet

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Sometimes it is truly the simplest of things that change your mood.  On this particular day, the heat and humidity was high.  And generally my overall mood was one of frustration.  I come home, and check my Facebook and see my mate in Miami had posted up a Sekajipo and the Jungle track Hardtimes.  It just put things back into perspective.  Things are never as tough for me as they are for so many people out there.  I am thankful for the food I have, the family and friends that surround me.

It is time like this that I just want to dive into the colors that surround me.  I, through my lens, just want to swim with the colors.  Let them fill my fill up my vision until there is nothing I can see but colors.

Iced Over in Konodai

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

The temperature has been hitting the freezing point over the last couple of days.  There was even a light dusting of snow on Saturday, but I missed it because I slept in that day.  Today I found the fountain in Kondai frozen over.  It was only for a  fleeting, because as soon as the sun reached high enough to hit the fountain, it quickly melted.  I am still waiting for a solid amount of snow. Once or twice a year of snow is enough for me.

It is Just the Tozai Line and a Square

Caught in the long hallway between Otemachi station and Tokyo Station.  A lovely little corner of hidden gorgeous abstraction.  It is all about the east to the west!

Spontaneous Growth

Saturday, November 6th, 2010

The other day after some rain I noticed what I thought was a stencil in the shape of a bearded man.  Upon a closer look I realized that the beard was in fact some kind of fungi-like growth.  Always something interesting in ones own neighborhood.

Tricky Trickster Urayasu

A few more from the upcoming mayors race in Urayasu.

Time to see through, and seek truth.

Urayasu is Up to Old Tricks

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Yep!  It is that time of season again.  The time when the citizens of the wealthy enclave of Urayasu head to the polls to vote for their next mayor.  I don’t know maybe its me, or maybe its my age, but I have become so jaded by the political process.  All these slick glossy images don’t pull me in; however, they do pull in my eye, and are captured with my lens.

It is time to rethink the way we are all impacted by politricks.  To deconstruct the images of the clean, and dirty politician, and see them all for what they are.

The sun shone so high on Saturday.  It was lovely to be out and about with a cool dry wind blowing though the neighborhood.  The unusually hot summer I suspect has disrupted the natural rhythm of blooming and fruiting of nature.

The wall was just dotted with these beautiful deep hued blue flowers.  Melded into a sky blue sky and the tarred asphalt.  All just a glorious day to be out in my own backyard.

Inner Reflection Manifesting Outwardly

Friday, September 17th, 2010

As the sun sets this Friday night it is a time to reflect on the previous doing of the year.  It is a time to reason with the self and struggle how to make one’s self a better self.

The stone ages, wears, but the marks, and gouges remain.

Think about time, the ages, the amount of time that it takes a rough hewn stone to smooth like a river pebble.  Maybe, hopefully we can come closer to who we must be.

Love is the greatest gift.

Windy Backstreets and Galettes

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

I had never been to Kagurazaka before venturing there today.  I had heard that it was a bit of an old part of town, but what really got me to want to make a stroll around is when I heard that there are more French restaurants there than anywhere else in Tokyo.  I  enjoyed the little backstreets, that alternated between little bistros and exquisite Japanese places.

And finally after a beautiful Galette stuffed with cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes I was treated to my favorite coffee, a noisette.  yummy!

Tokyo Sky Tree is Freakin Tall!

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

I have been to the top of Tokyo Tower and the Mori Building in Roppongi to get some amazing views of this mega-city Tokyo, but both of these will pale to Tokyo Sky Tree when it opens to the public in 2012.  Walking around Oshiage trying to get a view of Tokyo Sky tree I would get dizzy staring up at the structure.

The neighborhood of Oshiage was a quiet little town, not known for very much, but that will all change with the Sky Tree.  The sleepy neighborhood is already filled with a throngs of photo seekers.

The temp is on the rise as the rainy season wanes.  The mercury is hitting it’s high mark and will continue to do so as we edge closer and closer to August.  In the geometric studies I could feel the heat radiate off the corrugated siding.  Hot Hot Hot.

The Fruit of the Vine

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Those that know me, know that I am not a big drinker; however, I do like to enjoy a nice glass of wine once in a while, and especially to celebrate the coming of the sabbath.  In moderation, to be savored and enjoyed the fruit of the vine can work miracles.

So enjoy a glass or two now and then.

The wonderful fruit of the vine.
