Fragmented Self and the Safety Cones

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

One usually sees oneself in bits and pieces.  Never quite able to put all the bits together and see the whole.  It is a struggle to understand the self as a whole.  I hope though the art and process of photography I will better be able to understand the self and the world that the self inhabits.

They are all out there laying in plain sight.  The basic shapes that make up the world around us.  The squares, rectangles, triangles, lines ovals, circles.  They are all there.  They are sometimes perfect, and other times they are beautifully imperfect.  I will continue to search out these shapes.  I see them now when I close my eyes.

YES ! and an Arrow

YES!

Scratched deep into the layers of paint at Urayasu station.

The anguish, the pure expression, reaching out of the cold, damp

just to say YES!

And then there is the  arrow.   Scribbled on a post caught about on

one of my wanders.  Pointing in a direction that I will never travel.

We all must choose the way to journey.

Yes !

This Way or That Way
