Two Color Fields in Mimomi

Saturday, May 14th, 2011

So, as the earth continues to remind us that it hasn’t settled yet, I will continue to seek refuge among the colors of the flora and fauna.  My heart and soul seek them first, then I find them with my lens.

I walked into a quiet field of unkept grass in Mimomi on Friday.  The field was just full of white and purple flowering weeds.  None of them were much higher than a foot off the ground.  So much color in this micro world.  I am often amazed at the biodiversity that can be found in the most nondescript locale.

Even a Soccer Field Warms My Heart

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Here I am in Tokyo, under a pile a blankets awaiting a spring that does not seem to come.  Day after day the weather is cold, or the skies open and icy rain falls from the heavens.  I am not sure why, but I do know that even on a day like today I would love to sit in the bleachers on a faceless soccer field and just let my heart bask in the glory that the Most High provides with the sun.  But, for now, I will bundle up, wrap a scarf around my neck and wait for those cherry blossoms to open, or will they?
