The End to an Endless Summer

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

I guess with the silencing of the cicadas and seeing this one on my way home today signals the end to a summer that seem to have none.

The Key to The World Is

Inner Reflection Manifesting Outwardly

Friday, September 17th, 2010

As the sun sets this Friday night it is a time to reflect on the previous doing of the year.  It is a time to reason with the self and struggle how to make one’s self a better self.

The stone ages, wears, but the marks, and gouges remain.

Think about time, the ages, the amount of time that it takes a rough hewn stone to smooth like a river pebble.  Maybe, hopefully we can come closer to who we must be.

Love is the greatest gift.

Ueno in August, Pipes, and Lotuses

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

After visiting the heart of Tokyo today, I am thankful for being close to Tokyo Bay.  It might not be much of a difference, but being near the water does keep things a bit cooler.  Surrounded by all that concrete and steel juts breeds hot air.

Wandering around some of the backstreets of Ueno is always an interesting for me and my lens.  I am never quite sure what I am going to find.  Walls that have been completely taken over by pipping and meters, A beautiful Lotus pond full of blooming flowers.  All harmonizing in the summer heat.

Windy Walk Wednesday

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

It is Wednesday.  It is windy and as usual I walked my tired self home.  It seems like the closer I get sometimes the farther away I feel.  This being said, I still am truly thankful for the world that we live in.  I am thankful that I have the time and energy to keep on pursuing my voice, no matter how hoarse it may become.

Up and Back on a Friday

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Stepping back and letting the surroundings soak it up in the lens.  Then there are the times I want to step forward and get so close that nothing else is to be seen.  The combination of the two is a perfect expression for me.

So, sit back and enjoy.  Step forward and look deeply. How ever you choose to look, let those visions fill your vision.

Blue White and Pre-Framed

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

If you haven’t noticed already I’m really into the color blue.  There has been an attraction to this color ever since I was a little child.  There is a relaxing element to that oceanic color.  It just soothes my scattered brain.  The color washes over my eye like those beautiful waves on the Big Island.  Ahhh blue…. in all its shades, tones and emotions.

Ripping It in Blue and Other Dimensions

The blues can really shine on and take on a life of their own.  Those deep sky blues that seem endless, every reaching into the cosmos.  The rust that meshes with the colors, as its base metals rust away from the inside.

Little details, look, and have been seen.

Fuji is NOT Here and Other Urban Notes

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

The weather is back to being completely schizophrenic.  It can not make up it’s mind whether it is spring, summer or as it felt today, winter.  The skies went purple for a minute before the heavens opened up and poured.  Might need to pull out that extra blanket I put away a few weeks ago.

Things appeared in a new light as I made my way around.  There were unique little details.  Like the ghostly impression of Mt. Fuji that appeared on a no bicycle sign.  It was there today, but I had never seen it before, or was it just an illusion.

A perfectly placed staple, on a simple plain whitish paper.  Just there.  Just waiting in the quiet late spring rain.

Then there was the poster that was hung outside of a junior high school warning the youths to take action to prevent the spread of the flu and other viruses.  We all can see what someone really thought of this sign.

Little notes all imaged in Kasai and Shin Urayasu.

When is a Red Line not a Red Line ?

When is a Red Line not a Red Line ?

When is a Red Line not a Red Line

It is a image word play.  The answer is when the Japanese character for

red is printed over a line that is black.  So pictorially the the image reads Red Line,

but it is actually black.

Nice Bokeh?  Don’t you think?
