Another Masked Hero has Fallen

Fallen Masked Hero

It has happened again.  A lone masked fighter for the underdogs has fallen by the wayside.  He once stood for justice, now he only hopes to be found once again.

He championed for those that has no where else to turn.  For the motherless children, for the those that have fallen through the cracks of society, he was there for them.

Who will be there for him now that he has been forgotten?  Who will be there to say his eulogy as he is buried in his grave.

He was a hero.  He will forever be a hero to me.  Let us not forget the mortality of our heroes.  We shouldn’t forget their humanness. Raise your glasses high and say a toast to the fallen masked hero of Kasai.

Lost Smile Found

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

This lost and found object really caught my eye today.  I haven’t taken many of the lost and found images over that last nine months or so as I have been exploring other subjects.  This little caught me by surprise.  He was just there.  Perched on the edge of a high brick wall in Ichikawa.  He was laying on his side, with a house key attached to him.  Even though he was lost, on his side and out and the cold, he still managed to smile.  His smiling made me smile.  Because of these chain reaction of events I knew I needed to take his portrait.

We need to never loose our sense of humor.  The unique human quality to laugh and refresh ourselves though our laughter.  I needed a good laugh today.  And this little guy gave it to me.  Even though he is made of plastic, he does not have a plastic smile to me.  His smile was genuine.  His smile was from the heart.

Laugh and smile.

Lost Key to Someone’s Heart

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Someone lost the key to their heart.

If it is anyones out there, please contact me.

It would be a shame if that heart can never be opened again.

Have a beautiful day of rest.

I’m Melting, I’m Melting

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Ok, so I am not really melting, but it certainly feel that way.  You know its hot when you can feel the heat though the soles of your shoes.  That is the kind of heat we had today, and If it is a sign of what is to come, I know we are in for a hot Tokyo summer.

At least in the late afternoon, on my walk home, the sun was beginning to come down, and the mercury dropped a little.  The shadows were sharp and crispy like saltines.  The edges so defined between the shade and the lit part of some images.  I prefer the shade, at least to cool my weary head.

Lost keys, a found slapped images of Edison, I think.  If so, why would someone paste a tiny picture of Edison to a light pole?  That is beyond me.

Smilling Even Though Lost

This is Not a Toy

Monday, June 21st, 2010

In between the daily rains of recent day I have been thinking of this verse from Isaiah 2:4.  I am sure most of you out there know it.

“and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Then this item tossed aside on the edge of a pedestrian overpass I found a toy gun that has been tossed away.  Even though it is a toy gun, these so called toys breed violence into the games that children play.  It will be a beautiful tomorrow when there shall be no more metals and plastics used for destruction.

I await that day.

We all await that day.
