Finding Autumn in the Depths of Nihonbashi Station

Yellow Road Leads to Autumn in Nihonbashi Station
In a passage way deep into the depths of Nihonbashi station there are signs that autumn has arrived.  Even if one has to ride a JR line train deep into the countryside to be able to see the luscious colors at the moment.

The leaves will soon be turing in my part of town soon enough.  The weather is much cooler the past few days.  The autumn moon has risen. I await the ginko trees and their yellow as bright as the seeing tiles, and the momoji (Japanese maple) to turn the wine shades as in the picture.

For now I will take this as a positive sign of the lovely hues to come.

Double Shrooms in the Morning

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

I am always happy to find some fungi.  They are amazing bits of nature.  They grow so quietly.  They often sprout up overnight.  One minute there is nothing and the next morning there are two little mushroom sentinels standing watch over a small hillside in Chiba prefecture.

I love having to enter into their world.  This means, it is rather rare to run into some fungi that are at my eye level.  I need to lower my eye line down to the shrooms size.  Getting down on my knees and into the blades of grass to photograph them.

I want to see what those shrooms are seeing.

I want to feel what they are feeling.

In order to do this I need to enter into their micro world.

Double Morning Mushrooms

It is good for all of us to be able to change our perspective on the world.  The world looks mighty different when you are eye to eye with blades of grass and these two little sentinels.  The macro and the micro go hand in hand and shape our view of all the stimuli that makes up the world.  We learn to perceive, process, and interact with that world.

Purple Modular Blur Blossom

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

Sometimes it is good to get lost with in the blurred colors of the natural world.  An escape, if only for a moment, from the hustle of my urban lifestyle.

Purple bubbles swirl in the lens.  They relieve my spirit and lift my head.

Just Blurring into the Twilight with Flowers

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

Taken the other day when the skies were filled with yellow sand, and the skies turned to violet.  It fits, the blur, the bright, and muted all working in harmony to create a smooth end to a long day.  A day that was filled with doubt, dust and odd conversations.

Saved by the flowers that have been with me this spring.  They wont leave my side until the petals fall and are replaced by new growth as summer is just a little while away.

Tokyo Forrest Revisited

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

On my way to meet up with some mates I passes by a poster I have seen many times.  I first photographed it about 2 years ago.  I couldn’t pass up the chance to revisit this image.  It is wedged in between Otemachi and Tokyo station.  There along this old stretch of corridor there hangs a lovely urban forrest.  A constant  reminder to me of the disconnect that we feel living among the concrete, iron and neon of Tokyo.  There is sits on the wall, slowly yellowing, with its leaves never shedding.

Rainy Dip

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

After over a month without a spec of rain, the skis opened up and it has been pouring all day long.  We decided to go try an Hawaiian transported breakfast place.  Maybe it wasn’t the best day for walking around Harajuku with a small umbrella, but it did feel good to not be roasting in the sun.

Old Louis Vuitton Got Himself Lost

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

I have been searching out the lost and found objects for about 9 years or so.  So many object lost and so many of these object found.  All have been gently placed with the intention of them being found by their owner.  Just another two keys that have been lost.  What do they unlock?  Will they ever slide into that lock agin?  Only the most high knows.
