Oh My Goi

Monday, October 11th, 2010

I had the chance to journey a bit out into Chiba to the semi rural, and semi industrial town of Goi.  Wandering around the rainy streets located not far from the station the pace of life seemed to slow to that of the rust I was encountering.  Goi.  Oh my Goi.

Color is Love

The rain just keeps on falling and falling.  The earth is soaked to breaking point, yet there is a bright path of color.  Another last bit of glory from the never ending summer.  The luscious colors of nature mix and match with the urban surroundings.

The Return of the Spiderellas

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

The rain returned with destruction on it’s wings.  The rain fell hard like stones.  The wind whipped up the leaves and debris, and the Spiderellas came out as the rain lightened up.  It seems like whenever the storms hit the streets are covered with the Spiderellas.  It is much in the same way as in my home town of Miami that earthworms litter the the sidewalks after a a downpour.  Catch the Spiderellas as you can, for they will be gone in the bright sunlight.

After over a month without a spec of rain, the skis opened up and it has been pouring all day long.  We decided to go try an Hawaiian transported breakfast place.  Maybe it wasn’t the best day for walking around Harajuku with a small umbrella, but it did feel good to not be roasting in the sun.

That rain is falling, the blue orbs of energy are flowing.  The thin door and the mailboxes keep on rusting.  The island to nowhere just is sitting there.   Holding that umbrella high and waving to a loved one on a train platform.

The whole world just seemed to take a pause to pull out heir collective umbrella and in vain try to keep dry.

Rain Kicks off the Rainy Season

Monday, June 14th, 2010

The rainy season in the Tokyo area officially started today, and as if by clockwork the skies opened up and it has been raining all day.  Im not a big fan of the rainy season because it limits my ability to stroll around and take lots of flicks.  However, I still try to get out there and get some.  So these are my welcome images for the rainy season.

May it bring enough rain to water the crops, and fill the reservoirs, but not so much that it cause flooding.

Rain!

Again!

I must sound like a broken record, it seems to rain so much, and it isn’t even officially the rainy season yet.  The is a beauty to the rain.  It cleans the town, it makes the grass, trees, so green, and then there are the wonderful umbrellas that pop out at the first sign of rain.

Lost in Rain

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

I am not sure wether it was the rainy, cloudy day we had today, or it is just the cycle of life but I found on my stroll back to Ichikawa station more than the usual amount of delicately place lost objects.  At the temple’s ornate gate I found a cheap but places hair pin, and a cute piggy mascot.  Further along at one of my favorite dilapidated buildings a beautiful found checkered hand towel was waiting in harmony.  Finally just before reaching the station, there was a red pen bundled together with a lost point card from the electronic store Yamada Denki.  No umbrellas today. I guess it was just the rain.

I hope all these items are quickly reunited with their owners.

Hazy 10:46 Evening

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

The rain came all day.  It lest a haze that was hung around after the rain vanished.  All the lights are aglow outside, flaking of the shiny pavements and sidings.  SNAP, Snap, snap.

No Spring Today, Just Rain

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

You all must be tired of reading me bitch about the weather.  But seriously, I have had enough.  The rain is cold and I still need to use heaters in the house.  Being able to take my time to wander the streets it is just too bloody cold to do it.

Between the dense misty rain today, I was able to snap off a few clicks.  Wishing that the cold rain won’t seep into my lens.  I have to be careful pulling out my little Ricoh to keep it safe and dry.

Just some images of the rain, and cold.  Umbrellas seem to be a theme because there is nowhere I can go to escape them.

Well, the rain has returned. I am not going to complain, because at least this week the rain is not icy cold and on the verge of becoming sleet.  The streets are slick and all the brollies are held over the heads of those who remembered to bring one. If you did not, thats ok, because all you have to do is pop into a conbini (Aconvenience store) and buy a vinyl one for 500 yen.
