Ripping It in Blue and Other Dimensions

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

The blues can really shine on and take on a life of their own.  Those deep sky blues that seem endless, every reaching into the cosmos.  The rust that meshes with the colors, as its base metals rust away from the inside.

Little details, look, and have been seen.

3 O’clock in the P.M.

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

It was 3 O’clock in the P.M. when I took these images.  The air has been full of pollen that is driving me to verge of my sanity.  I try to pay it no heed, by focusing on taking some pictures.  Delving into my own inner soul.  Round and round like the hole I photographed.

I’m Naked Without it

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Yeah that’s right. Read the headline again.  I am naked without it.  Of course, in this case I am talking about my camera.  Today was the first time in a very long time, that I left the house with out putting my camera in my bag.  I felt like I had walked out of the house with out any pants on.  I would reach for the little ricoh, but it wasn’t there.  A big sigh!.

So, the images from todays post are from my stroll around Kasai on Saturday.  Buildings, constructions, all competing for my attention.  Therefore, I had to point my camera in many directions.

I won’t leave home without my camera tomorrow.  That is for sure.

Fuji is NOT Here and Other Urban Notes

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

The weather is back to being completely schizophrenic.  It can not make up it’s mind whether it is spring, summer or as it felt today, winter.  The skies went purple for a minute before the heavens opened up and poured.  Might need to pull out that extra blanket I put away a few weeks ago.

Things appeared in a new light as I made my way around.  There were unique little details.  Like the ghostly impression of Mt. Fuji that appeared on a no bicycle sign.  It was there today, but I had never seen it before, or was it just an illusion.

A perfectly placed staple, on a simple plain whitish paper.  Just there.  Just waiting in the quiet late spring rain.

Then there was the poster that was hung outside of a junior high school warning the youths to take action to prevent the spread of the flu and other viruses.  We all can see what someone really thought of this sign.

Little notes all imaged in Kasai and Shin Urayasu.

It never ends. The search goes on and on.  Every time we think we reach the end of one goal, another will take its place.

Searching the world for our voice is a continual struggle.  Never being completely satisfied.  Always wanting to do more, to say more, or to push it one step beyond.

Rusting Out on a Monday

Monday, May 10th, 2010

This Monday was pretty much usual, except for my best mate catching a bad cold, and sweating it out.  Drizzle came down for a little bit today on my way home, and will return for most of Tuesday.  So, my sights became focused in.  Trying to find some reason to the sometimes haphazard madness that is a Monday.

Oxidized Moon a Rising

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

The oxidized moon rose early this afternoon.  It must have been about 3 in the afternoon, when I caught a glimpse of the metal flaking into my lens.  That beautiful moon, that should only come out in those quickly shortening days of autumn, was out and about.  Quickly dropping behind the horizon line.

A Knob, and a Rusty Tag

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

The weather headed back into the chills today.  The mercury dropped again, the wind and the rain returned with a vengeance.  Now sitting cozily in my room, sorting though some pics, I came across a few little images to bring joy into my life, while I await this spring that is suppose to be here.

Nuts and Keys

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

From opposite ends of the Kanto region comes todays selections.  The first one is a lone nut that is slowly

rusting into nothingness in Roppongi.  The other are some lost and found keys hung gently on a gate

in Konodai, Chiba.  Both are forever waiting to be found again.  Both want nothing more to be home

and in front of the fireplace.  Wait, wait, waiting….

Rust and Barbwire

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Rust is one of those beautiful processes that the longer something rusts the more

intriguing it becomes.  Barbwire, the twisted sharp bits of metal has always fascinated me since

I was a child.  This dangerous stuff that keeps us separated, and divided.  Found in the upscale

neighborhood of Azabu.

Sun was beaming down and sizzling the concrete today as I

strolled back to the station.  The morning started off cool enough.  It didn’t last

long, it is July, you know?  The heat of the day sometimes bleaches the colors into

a nothingness, but I strive to find the colors in the City.

P.S. There is a cheeky self portrait in this batch.
