Lost Smile Found

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

This lost and found object really caught my eye today.  I haven’t taken many of the lost and found images over that last nine months or so as I have been exploring other subjects.  This little caught me by surprise.  He was just there.  Perched on the edge of a high brick wall in Ichikawa.  He was laying on his side, with a house key attached to him.  Even though he was lost, on his side and out and the cold, he still managed to smile.  His smiling made me smile.  Because of these chain reaction of events I knew I needed to take his portrait.

We need to never loose our sense of humor.  The unique human quality to laugh and refresh ourselves though our laughter.  I needed a good laugh today.  And this little guy gave it to me.  Even though he is made of plastic, he does not have a plastic smile to me.  His smile was genuine.  His smile was from the heart.

Laugh and smile.

And then My Father Smiled at Me

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

I have been feeling the ups and downs of life in these days.  These are the days that can’t seem to make up it’s mind wether it is autumn or not.  I was so pleased to see as I stepped out of the station the blue heavens smiling at me.  A smile as wide as the horizon with golden rays coming down to the soil.  It warmed my heart and all I could do was to smile back.

Sautéing Skies Under the Overpass

Monday, July 5th, 2010

As the sun was low in the sky this afternoon, the skies looked like onions Sautéing in the sky.  Quickly the skies turned brown, and no long after that they opened up and let loose droplets from the sky.

The alternating light and dark spots were what stopped me in my tracks to snap a picture.

Rain!

Again!

I must sound like a broken record, it seems to rain so much, and it isn’t even officially the rainy season yet.  The is a beauty to the rain.  It cleans the town, it makes the grass, trees, so green, and then there are the wonderful umbrellas that pop out at the first sign of rain.

Bang, bang, Click CLICK….

here we go, again, again.
