Sun Shone through Colored Glass

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

The sun shone high in the sky.  The moisture has returned to where it came from.  The light brightened all the land as the streets glowed under it’s weight.  I was freed from my cold, and awoke with colors in the heart.

Reality of Shibuya

This is not the glossy image of Shibuya that is splashed across glossy magazines.  This is the Shibuya that I know.  The dirty backstreets, where one can get lost in the variety of vices offered up if you have the yen to pay for it.

This is Not a Toy

Monday, June 21st, 2010

In between the daily rains of recent day I have been thinking of this verse from Isaiah 2:4.  I am sure most of you out there know it.

“and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Then this item tossed aside on the edge of a pedestrian overpass I found a toy gun that has been tossed away.  Even though it is a toy gun, these so called toys breed violence into the games that children play.  It will be a beautiful tomorrow when there shall be no more metals and plastics used for destruction.

I await that day.

We all await that day.

Rest Up and Give Thanks World: Friday Squared

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Another end to a hustling work week has come again.  I like to end my end of the week with a longer than usual stroll around the stations, and on my journey back to my home.  It sets me off in the right direction as a transition between the week and the rest on the sabbath.

I am thankful for all the beauty I get to bear witness to on a daily basis.

Rest up and give thanks world.
