Orange in the Spotlight

Monday, July 18th, 2011

First of all I would like to congratulate Japan’s National Women’s Team for winning the Women’s World Cup.  I am well aware of my American roots, and I usually would support my home team of America.  However, considering all that Japan has been though over the last four months I am pleased that Japan won.  It gives Japan a bit of good news when we all have been just keeping our heads above water in bad news.

Orange is one of those colors that I usually overlook. The hot sensation that orange gives me is one that I usually avoid.  However, these two, were just singing in the sun.  They speak color sound of summer time.  The speak of the heat, that shines from the closeness of the summer sun.

More Sunshine for All

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

Still feeling a bit out of sorts, the last week or so.  I can’t really shake it. I can put if off for a bit but then it comes back into my stream of thought when I really don’t want to be thinking about it.

I am in a state of thankfulness, despite the obstacles placed in my mind.  I am thankful for my camera to help me explore and express myself.  I would be utterly lost without my trusty companions.   They venture where ever I go.  They allow me to reach deep into my soul and express them in the world that manifests around my flesh.

More sunshine.  I am craving it.  The cool weather feels amazing on my skin, but the sun will come.  It will heat my aches, and brighten my field of vision.

This just in.  Some sunshine came to some friends with the birth of Coco Maxine Meister, born June 15th at 3:10pm.  I livicate this blog to her, and her family.

Deep Burgundy in my Neighborhood

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Summer is creeping in quickly over the last two days.  The air is still pleasant, but i can feel the heat to come.

The flowers are beginning to change.  Long gone are the first blooms of spring.  As we move into the rainy season the hydrangeas are starting to awaken from their slumber.  They enjoy the rain, so much.  Even mine, on my patio, has opened its first couple of blooms.

Today as I was on my way back from the supermarket, I braked in front of a neighbor’s home.  There was this tall weed-like plant that was covered in large burgundy hued flowers.  Such a sweet color, just like a good bottle of wine should be.

Out with the old, and in with the colors of summer.

sip, sip, click, click.

ah.

Down the Lilly Hole

Then Yoko looked at her pocket watch.  And she could tell by the tick tick tick that it was time to head down the lilly hole.

Purple Requiem

Friday, May 6th, 2011

This week brought the world wide news of the death of an infamous human, which I felt completely numb to the news.  There was no feeling of relief.  There was no sensation of joy to this news.  I was just numb to it.  My only real hope is that the troops in Afghanistan can come home and be with their families.

I received the news from a friend that his brother had passed away.  Even though the brother and I were never very close I remember him in my youthful memories of playing with Star Wars action figures in their backyard.  Making mud pits for the figures to be thrown into.  Fighting over who’s figures were ours, which we kind of solved by writing our names on the soles of Bobba Fett’s feet.  We even would tie firecrackers to some of the poor Star Wars souls and blew them to pieces.

I mourn his passing.  It hit me pretty hard, and I am reminded of how little time we are sometimes allowed on this planet.  We should love those around us.  We should stop and see the beauty out there in the world.

Much Love!

More Love!

More Life!

Color is Love

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

The rain just keeps on falling and falling.  The earth is soaked to breaking point, yet there is a bright path of color.  Another last bit of glory from the never ending summer.  The luscious colors of nature mix and match with the urban surroundings.

love = beauty

beauty = love

color is love ! ! !
