33 to 1 by John Walford

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

John Walford blessed me with another poem inspired by one of my images.  A big shout out to john for taking the time to use his senses and see anew.

Thirty-three little blue faces turn
To catch the rays of the unseen sun.
One grey dish it’s face too does turn
Towards unseen beams, airwaves
Bearing from afar sights and sounds
That in turn make our heads turn.
And your head, your eyes, which way
Will you turn, and what will you absorb?

MOZE on a Friday

Friday, October 29th, 2010

Today was the calm before the storm.  The temp was cool but the sun managed to peek out from behind the clouds for at least a few minutes.  Staying close to home, I ventured over to Nishi Kasai to hit the thrift shops and just to see what was about.

Soon after my arrival I saw this MOZE tag just staring at me.  I then knew my mission for the day:  I was on a MOZE tag hunt.  I wandered the streets of Nishi Kasai peering everywhere along the way.  There goes another one.

Happy hunting, tags that is…

Two Sides of Yesterday

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

Well the rain is just pouring outside.  The weather has turned down right nasty, with the probability that a typhoon will hit tokyo in the couple of days.  We are bound to get lots of rain and wind.  Didn’t get the chance to take some images, so I am showing two sides of yesterday, which was cold, but the light was gorgeous.

Temp Drops, the Color Comes out to Play

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

The temperature has dropped over the course of the day.  By the time I made my way back to the station the wind was picking up and little icy droplets of rain had begun to fall.  No problem for me, because the saturation of the colors just soothed my face against the wind.  It made it all worth it, especially finding the Tidy Blue Niche.

Monday Dreaming of Saturday

Monday, October 25th, 2010

The overcast chilly weather has soaked me to my bones.  I long for those beautiful blue skies of Saturday.

The Lovely Side of the Street

Sunday, October 24th, 2010

My pendulum like mood swings has caused me to see things a bit more darkly that I would like.  The politricksters and their loudspeakers (this irritating noise is easily filtered out and ignored by the Japanese) hits a nerve deep in my soul and bring out some long rooted frustrations; however, there is another side of the street.

This side of the street is full of life. This other side of the street are full of neighbors that say hello, even to me a complete an utter stranger.  On this side of the street the kitty soaking up the rays smiles as if to say to me “I know.”

Wandering the back alleys no bigger than for a single bicycle to pass I found the lovely side of the street.  I will and always try to find this side to the urban jungle where I trod.  I can not ignore the sights that trouble my soul and they will emerge in my work from time to time.  But keeping this is check, it is the lovely concrete, and potted plants that bring out the best in me.

Seek it.

Look for that lovely side of the street.

The wind was blowing a cool dry breeze as I made my way to Tsudanuma station in Chiba.  The wind caused me to zipper up my windbreaker to shield myself from the cold.  It really isn’t that cold, I just think that my body hasn’t really acclimated to the weather change after a long and hot summer.

Will the weather turn to as long as a winter as we had summer?

For now may we all enjoy this lovely in between.

Urayasu is Up to Old Tricks

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Yep!  It is that time of season again.  The time when the citizens of the wealthy enclave of Urayasu head to the polls to vote for their next mayor.  I don’t know maybe its me, or maybe its my age, but I have become so jaded by the political process.  All these slick glossy images don’t pull me in; however, they do pull in my eye, and are captured with my lens.

It is time to rethink the way we are all impacted by politricks.  To deconstruct the images of the clean, and dirty politician, and see them all for what they are.

Urbanistic Bliss: Finger Painted Sky

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

The time was 5:15 in the p.m.  The place is Minami Kasai where I dwell, and lay my head to rest at night this little micro miracle occurred.

I noticed the buildings across the way reflecting a beautiful orange light.  Turned my head to see where the light was coming from to be blessed to see that intersection of the urban and the mystic with a sky in all it’s finger painted glory.

Cliche, but so true.

Cool Sunny Kasai

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

The sun shone so high on Saturday.  It was lovely to be out and about with a cool dry wind blowing though the neighborhood.  The unusually hot summer I suspect has disrupted the natural rhythm of blooming and fruiting of nature.

The wall was just dotted with these beautiful deep hued blue flowers.  Melded into a sky blue sky and the tarred asphalt.  All just a glorious day to be out in my own backyard.

Lost Key to Someone’s Heart

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Someone lost the key to their heart.

If it is anyones out there, please contact me.

It would be a shame if that heart can never be opened again.

Have a beautiful day of rest.
