Down in Miami I was able to bear witness to an amazing break dance battle,  These youth had skills.  They challenged each other in a heated exchanges, looks, poses.  Then again looking at the bloodlines of these two youth, the rhythm is running thought there heart and souls.

Um [laut] magazin, a German arts magazine just released it latest issue 03 which includes a photographic essay on my ongoing project on lost and found objects in Japan.  The four page spread includes some images of my favorite statue. Who I often refer to as my Kasai Girl.

Found this little kitty wandering around the Roti Shop on NE 2nd Avenue and 79th street.  Just two doors down from the Next to Shine breaking bboy dance battle at Youth Expressions.  

The little vintage analog camera Fujipet made the long journey with me half way across the world to my home town of miami florida.  There I put it to good use as a companion in my runnings, journeys and daily life in South Florida.  The raw, simple tool leaves little between myself and my imagination.

I have made the decision to update and upload a small backlog of the graphic design projects I have done over the past few years.  Some are from projects up and coming and others are those that have passed.  I approach design much in the same way I create an analog collage.  It is all about layers and layers of images, and text until the you reach a point of fruition.

Kimani aka Dirty Sandwich aka Rusty Water is a is a pioneer in the Miami Hiphop, and Spoken Word scene. He has long been known to do the most crazy stunts for the sake of his art. I had the pleasure to chill and do a little improve collaboration with Dirty Sandwich while I was down in Miami. He can next be seen at the event RAIZE IT UP LIVE in South Florida.  

A note on he choice of Dirty Sandwich.  As he explained it.  Think about the poor kid on the school yard who only has a sandwich to eat for lunch.  Drops it in the dirt, and it is either eat nothing, or dust it off and munch it.  That is how he views his art.  It is always good for you, even if it gets dirty.

A creation of PURE love for my brother Brimstone127 and his wife AJ.  A mixed media image created using inkjet transfers, stencils, and old fashion painting.  

 was fortunate to travel back to my hometown of Miami, Florida in the 2nd half of February this year.  A long journey for my soul which I tapped into with my camera.  These first selection of images highlight the monochromatic view though the Contax T3 35mm camera.  A always there will be more to come.
