Name Card Shuffle, 2012, Lucid Communication

A collection of little name cards I made to hand out at a small art gathering last night.  I actually got inspired around midnight the night before to show.  I went over to my studio shook up a few cans of spray paint and made this little name cards.

I am pretty happy that I made them.  They came in handy at the show to hand out to some people who had come by to check the work and enjoy some good times.

8 String Bass Guitar Rebirth of the Soul

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

Time is a curious subject.  The older I get the more I loose any sense of time.  Time moves quickly, and I often measure time from when I saw a movie, or when I took a trip somewhere.  These are the markers of the years.  I have been thinking about where I want to lead my life from this point forward.  I had a deep conversation with my dearest friend Jerry Kolber who has agreed to help assist me in my search.  He is going to help me focus in on my subconscious and conscious mind.  The conversation definitely set off something in my subconscious because, that night I had an extremely vivid dream.  It was one of those dreams that I knew it was my subconscious trying to communicate with my woken mind.  I woke up and wrote down all the details that I could remember.

Objects from the dream include:

8 string bass guitar

triangular room

music

exotic beer

emotional content:

fear

doubt

performing

redneckism

preppism

artistic/creative world

regular world

I am still in the process of unscrambling the images of the dream, but it already has had an impact on my life.  I took my acoustic guitar out of storage.  I took the old rusty strings off, and restrung it with some shiny brand new metallic strings.  Once I finally was able to get the guitar in tune, thanks to some online tuners, I proceeded to play for the next couple of hours.  I was just having fun.  Playing along with some music, looking up some notations online.  In other words, just vibing out.  It was just me and my guitar.

The weather has really turned to fall and I have the window in our place opened with a cool dry breeze blowing in.  I started to think about the dream again.  This time I took out a blank book I had bought, and I filled its first page with some of the dream images.  It was amazing.  I had tried to paint over the summer, but I couldn’t get anywhere.  Here, a dream led to one of my first drawings in a few year.

I am blessed.  I thank the Creator for stirring up my soul to help get my creative juices flowing.  I am looking forward to the rebirth of my soul.  I am open.  I am trying to be open is better way to look at it.  I am going to keep on searching for truth.

Brimstone127 in the Round

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

It has been a while since I have been in my painting studio.  Things have just been kind of crazy, and I haven’t had the time or the purse inspiration to work on some collages; however, this all changed last night.  I got the vibe to go into my studio and work on something.  I had no idea what I was going to make, but I knew I had to make something.  I dusted off my cans, and paint bottles, and got to work.

I am thankful for the chance and the inspiration to get my hands dirty.

An exploration into the symbiotic nature of the camera fusing into the soul of the photographer. On the other side the expressions shows the true nature and power of the art.

a fusion, and morphing of technology into a non stop able creative force.

Graphic Design: the Backlog

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

I have made the decision to update and upload a small backlog of the graphic design projects I have done over the past few years.  Some are from projects up and coming and others are those that have passed.  I approach design much in the same way I create an analog collage.  It is all about layers and layers of images, and text until the you reach a point of fruition.

Love Them: Mixed Media Painting

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

A creation of PURE love for my brother Brimstone127 and his wife AJ.  A mixed media image created using inkjet transfers, stencils, and old fashion painting.

Love Them

Old Fashioned, Hands On Analog Alternative Printing

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

Recently I have become quite obsessed with analog hands on techniques for printing.  I have come to love the way the  inkjet print transfers captures feelings and emotion.  The process is full of hazards and happy accidents, is another reason why it suits me.  I am sure that there will be many more to come.

Monoprints: January 2009

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

In my mixed media art class today we worked on making mono prints.  I hadn’t made any mono prints on paper for quite a long time and it was quite exciting to make them again.  There is a freedom found in their simplistic nature.  The act of knowing that once you ink up a plate and press it to the paper that is the only exact one you can ever get.
